Fishing Report – May 3–10, 2025

May began with a steady rhythm and growing anticipation as both Playa Blanca and Casa Blanca continued to show signs of early tarpon movement. The weather held beautifully all week, with calm mornings, soft southeast winds averaging 9 mph, and plenty of light over the flats.

At Casa Blanca, Jim and Jason explored new water each day, finding pods of bonefish in unexpected places and even encountering a pair of curious snook in a shallow river mouth. At Playa Blanca, Geoff hooked into a juvenile tarpon that went airborne three times before finally shaking the fly — one of those thrilling near-wins that stays with you long after the day ends.

The group this week included a mix of first timers and seasoned veterans, creating a contagious atmosphere of learning, laughter, and shared excitement at the lodge.
