Fishing Report – March 29 – April 5, 2025

The first days of April brought a shift in the air. Both Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca began to feel the early signs of seasonal transition — slightly warmer days, more movement on the flats, and a spark of new energy among both fish and fishermen. Winds remained moderate from the east, averaging 10–12 mph, with stable, sunny conditions throughout the week.

At Casa Blanca, John and Rick explored new water each day, mixing classic flats sessions with exploratory runs into less-traveled lagoons. Their reward? Steady bonefish action and a surprise encounter with a small school of permit, one of which followed the fly all the way to the leader before peeling off — enough to set hearts racing.

Meanwhile at Playa Blanca, the Espiritu Santo Bay woke up. Calvin Jr jumped two silver bullets before breakfast on Wednesday, and by week’s end, nearly everyone had taken a shot at the elusive juveniles. The mood back at the lodge was electric — a mix of anticipation, excitement, and that unique satisfaction that comes from chasing fish in wild places.
