This week at Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca was shaped by changing skies and shifting tides — the kind of dynamic conditions that challenge and reward in equal measure. Light showers rolled through on two afternoons, refreshing the flats and adding a silver hue to the water. Winds averaged 10–13 mph from the southeast, keeping the fish on the move and the anglers on their toes.
At Playa Blanca, the Anderson & Platt Flyfishing group chased permit through breezy channels and had two solid shots — one resulted in a long fight and a triumphant release that drew applause back at the lodge. Casa Blanca’s bonefish flats were active all week, with several guests reporting their best numbers of the season, including Jerry, who landed a personal best during a calm early-morning session.
The week was filled with laughter, high-fives, and a few heartbreaks — missed eats, broken leaders — all part of the game. But the energy on the dock each afternoon said it all: this was a group that loved every second of it.

You win some, you miss some — and you love it all
Fishing here isn’t just about the catch. It’s about the chase, the stories, and the joy that comes with every moment on the water.
