As spring approached, both Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca welcomed a noticeable shift in light and energy. The days felt longer, and the breeze — steady from the east at around 11 mph — carried just enough movement to keep the flats cool and the fish active. Water clarity remained excellent, especially in the mornings.
At Casa Blanca, Jack took full advantage of the conditions, sight-casting to bonefish in water so clear it looked airbrushed. Playa Blanca delivered more variety: Rusty landed a feisty snook early in the week, while Shawn had a productive afternoon in the lagoon, landing a pair of juvenile tarpons after a slow, quiet approach through the mangroves.

The fishing is world-class — but it’s the solitude, the simplicity, and the sense of wonder that bring people back year after year.
