Fishing Report – March 1–8, 2025

March arrived with long light and soft tides, inviting anglers at Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca into a rhythm that only the flats can provide. The week was marked by stable weather — highs near 81°F, gentle southeast winds around 9 mph, and excellent visibility on the water.

At Casa Blanca, Steve and Drew spent most of the week chasing permit and was rewarded midweek with a beautiful fish after a tense, slow stalk across the edge of a rising tide. Meanwhile, Charles and Will chose to slow things down, opting for bonefishing sessions. They were rewarded not just with steady action, but with moments of pure stillness, standing alone in shallow water as rays glided past.

Playa Blanca offered its own kind of magic. In the backcountry lagoons of Santa Rosa, Rich encountered rolling baby tarpon and landed two before breakfast one morning. But the real highlight? A spontaneous picnic on a sandbar with their guide and partner, surrounded by nothing but sky and sea.

Where water, light, and silence meet

Fishing these remote flats offers more than just a tug on the line — it’s about slowing down, tuning in, and letting nature lead the way.
