Fishing Report – January 18–25, 2025

A light shift in the wind brought calm mornings and warmer afternoons to Playa Blanca this week. With water temperatures holding steady near 78°F, the conditions favored early starts and long days on the water.

George and Frank focused on the deeper channels and were rewarded with two strong permits on back-to-back days. Meanwhile, Ross and Dave enjoyed steady bonefish numbers along the west-facing flats, with several fish pushing the 4-pound mark. A surprise appearance from a school of snook kept things interesting midweek.

By half week, the lagoons came alive. Joshua and David managed to jump four baby tarpons in a single session, all before lunch. The highlight of the week came on Thursday, when Chris and Michael put together a clean grand slam under glassy skies.
