Fishing Report – February 15–22, 2025

This week at Playa Blanca and Casa Blanca reminded us why late February is such a special time to be on the water. With slightly cooler nights and clear, sun-filled days, the flats lit up with life. Winds averaged 9–10 mph out of the east, offering clean water and good visibility nearly every day.

Casa Blanca saw solid activity early in the week. Kevin focused on deeper edges and was rewarded with a strong permit after a patient stalk and a single well-placed cast. At Playa Blanca, Huey and Steve stayed close to the southern flats, encountering big numbers of bonefish, several of which pushed past 4 pounds.

Later in the week, the lagoon came alive with movement. Donald jumped a tarpon in the mangroves that left everyone wide-eyed — the kind of encounter that stays with you. But perhaps the most satisfying part of the week wasn’t just the fish — it was the relaxed pace, the long boat rides through quiet waters, and the return to the dock with stories worth telling.

Let the days stretch out

Here, fishing isn’t just a goal — it’s part of a larger experience. The stillness, the connection, and the unexpected moments are what make it memorable.
