Fishing Report – February 1–8, 2025

A week of soft light, open skies, and steady action greeted our guests at Playa Blanca and Casa Blanca. The breeze held at a manageable pace, around 8 mph from the northeast, and water temperatures hovered in the mid-70s — ideal for exploring both the ocean-side flats and the protected lagoon systems.

During the week Fred and Teri focused on sight fishing, enjoying easy rides through crystal-clear shallows where schools of permits provided nonstop action. Monty landed a chunky tarpon in one of the southern creeks, while another group had a close encounter with cruising permit but couldn’t quite seal the deal.

One of the most touching moments came midweek when Lars and Birte, celebrating a special anniversary, shared the skiff with their partner. A quiet morning, a few fish to hand, and a shared toast at lunch made it more than just another day on the water — it was a memory that will last.
