Fishing Report – April 5–12, 2025

April is in full swing, and this week brought a sense of abundance to Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca. With warm, steady weather — highs near 84°F and gentle winds around 9 mph — the fishery offered up consistent action, calm mornings, and picture-perfect afternoons.

Casa Blanca’s bonefish flats were alive. Mike and Matt reported double-digit days, casting to tailing fish on both sides of the tide. In the deeper water, a few permits were spotted cruising solo — spooky but within reach. Over at Playa Blanca, Jay and Craig with their guide made a long run into the backcountry and found a pocket of juvenile tarpon rolling at sunrise. Two hookups, one landed, and a memory made.

What really stood out this week, though, was the camaraderie. A multi-family group filled the lodge with laughter, storytelling, and friendly competition. Shared dinners turned into fly-tying lessons, and guests new to the salt left with not only fish stories, but new friendships too.
