Fishing Report – February 8–15, 2025

Mid-February brought a gentle rhythm to the days at Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca. Light cloud cover and cooler early mornings gave way to sunny afternoons, with average air temps near 79°F and steady east winds around 10 mph. It was a great week for exploration — and surprises.

At Playa Blanca, John ventured deep into the lagoons and was rewarded with a spectacular moment: three juvenile tarpons landed in under an hour. Meanwhile, Kyle focused on the outer flats and spent several days chasing permit, coming heartbreakingly close more than once. Over at Casa Blanca, James enjoyed classic bonefishing conditions, casting to large schools that eagerly took well-presented flies.

The week wasn’t just about numbers. One evening, several guests gathered swapping stories and laughing over shared sunburns and near-misses. It’s in these moments — the quiet pride after a tough fish, or the warmth of good company — where the true spirit of the trip comes alive.
