Fishing Report – January 25 – February 1, 2025

This week at Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca was marked by calm seas, light winds, and bright skies — a true gift for late January. With average highs around 80°F and excellent visibility across the flats, anglers were treated to some of the most enjoyable conditions so far this season.

At Casa Blanca, a group from Yellow Dog spent several days exploring the southern lagoon systems, finding bonefish in big numbers and even spotting a few curious tarpons cruising the edges. Over at Playa Blanca, another group from Frontiers took advantage of quiet mornings to stalk tailing permit in shallow water — one of them managed to connect after a perfectly placed cast.

One of the most memorable moments came not from a record catch, but from pure joy — Thomas, on their first saltwater trip, landed their very first bonefish and couldn’t stop smiling. Later in the week, a shared lunch under the mangroves turned into a spontaneous celebration of good company, good fishing, and the beauty of this remote corner of Mexico.
